MIKE SOTTAK

A founder of Wired Island and the firm’s ‘big thinker,” Mike has more than 20 years experience in tourism and high-tech marketing, business development, public relations and journalism. He is a 11-year and permanent resident of Turks and Caicos. He has consulted for many of the leading businesses, media and government organizations in the islands, including the Turks & Caicos Tourist Board, the TCI Immigration and Labour Departments, Digicel, the TCHTA, and a variety of firms in the hospitality, financial services and travel industries. Mike combines award-winning writing and journalism skills with a strong background in Internet and digital marketing to help develop leading-edge communications and business development solutions for Wired Island clients. He is actively involved in the local community in TCI, serving as president of the annual Turks & Caicos Conch Festival, a director of the Rotary Club of Providenciales, and a volunteer and contributor to many community events and causes.

As part of Wired Island, Mike has also worked with a broad range of global high technology industry leaders, including Broadcom (USA), CEVA (Israel), Chartered Semiconductor (Singapore), Scottish Enterprise (Scotland/UK), Silicon Oasis (Dubai), Vivace Semiconductor (China) and Xilinx (US). Prior to starting Wired Island in 1997, he spent ten years at Cadence Design Systems, one of the ten largest software companies in the world, where he was Director of Public Relations, overseeing the $1 billion firm's global PR program. He has worked as a journalist at daily newspapers in Boston and Houston, winning several Associated Press awards for writing during his career. Mike also worked in the public relations and marketing department of the Boston Celtics during their last world championship season in the National Basketball Association.

Mike graduated with honors with a degree in Public Relations and Journalism from Boston University's prestigious College of Communication.

TONI SOTTAK

Toni has 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing communications. With a background that combines agency and corporate experience, she has worked with companies such as Apple Computer, Autodesk, Cadence Design Systems, Hewlett-Packard and IBM. A co-founder of Wired Island, Toni is actively involved in the firm's local business efforts, managing launches and projects for clients such as Digicel, FirstCaribbean International Bank, the Turks and Caicos Hotel Association and the TCI Conch Festival. Toni also maintains Wired Island's extensive database of contacts and relationships with writers, reporters, editors and web masters who cover news and events related to island businesses. She supports a variety of community programs, including the Wired Island's high school internship program, and is a volunteer director of the Turks and Caicos AIDS Awareness Foundation.

Prior to helping launch Wired Island, she was Director of Corporate Communications at Rational Software, a $1 billion provider of software development and testing solutions that has since been acquired by IBM, where she was responsible for worldwide public relations.

Toni has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania.

DEBORAH MOHNSSEN

Deborah is Wired Island's Internet specialist with extensive background and expertise in web site design. She has been involved with interactive media for the past 12 years. In addition to managing Wired Island's web business, Deb supports clients with event management and public relations services. Her design work can be seen on local companies' and organizations' web sites, including: The TCI Music and Cultural Festival, Leeward, Ltd., Danny Buoy's Irish Pub, The TCI Conch Festival and The Temple Financial Group.

Before Wired Island, she was a project manager at AppNet, a single-source e-business solutions firm in Washington, D.C. where she worked for several nonprofit international organizations including; CARE, International Committee of the Red Cross, Pew Center for Climate Control, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She has also developed corporate web sites for DNA New Media Group, an interactive ad agency based in San Francisco and worked for a non-profit multimedia events company known as the Interactive Media Festival, a three-day interactive art gallery and competition that was held in Los Angeles during the summers of 1994 and 1995.

Deborah holds a BA in Art, with an emphasis in Multimedia Studies, from San Francisco State University and is a member of IWA.

JEN HARRISON

Jen joined Wired Island in 2007 as Graphic Designer. She has extensive knowledge of the printing industry with additional training and experience in web site design.

Before Wired Island, she worked as a designer in both England and Grand Cayman, undertaking various print and web design projects.

Jen graduated with a BA honors degree in Graphic Design, with an emphasis on New Media Design, from the University of Lincoln, UK.
